J.K. Rowlings lived for four years while studying in Exeter, England, so it goes without saying that at least some of her inspiration for the Harry Potter Books and movies came from the Exeter area. On 10 Cathedral Close, just behind the amazing Exeter Cathedral, there is this 16th-century ornate door hand-made from Devonshire Oak. This door is very similar to the "Room of Requirement Door" in the Potter movies and very well could have been the inspiration behind it.
