Dunvegan Castle is located on the eastern shore of the sea loch, Loch Dunvegan, on the Isle of Skye. The castle was initially built in the 1200's, but has been added to and refurbished quite a bit since then. To quote sources, "Dunvegan is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for 800 years." It is nearly impossible to get a good shot of this castle from anywhere except the sea side so I used my drone to capture the base image I used to create this piece of art. I also have a video in the making of the flight to capture images of the castle. In addition to being a beautiful work of medieval architecture, the MacLeod artifacts gallery inside the castle should not be missed. It is an amazing tourist visit.
