Moira and I stayed at a B&B in the village of Lochinver for several days as a base to work from during our hiking explorations of the Highlands. The weather was terrible with hard rain's and 30+ mph wind gusts. There was a break one morning and since the Falls of Kirkaig were so close and the hike was not "supposed" to be very long we thought we would try to hike to the falls and possibly get some still shots. Well, when we arrived at the parking area two fishermen told us that the hike was about a mile and very muddy. We, being the brave souls we are 😂, decided we would do it. Well, over the next almost 3 hour hike the drizzle of rain turned into a deluge and the hike was not an easy one. When we arrived at the falls it was pouring rain and the wind was blowing wild. The "trail" down to where a place that one could possibly set up a tripod to take a shot was rather difficult for a man with bad knees to get to safely, but I managed. Moira bailed on me at this point and "allowed" me to venture down the steep, very muddy and rocky path. I did get to a point that I was able to get a decent shot, but that was all I was able to do under the conditions and I feel fortunate to have been able to capture what I did. I have lots of video footage of the hike and soon I will make a video of our hiking adventure to the Falls of Kirkaig!
 
Wikipedia says it fine: " The Falls of Kirkaig are a waterfall in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland in the county of Sutherland. The fall is located on the River Kirkaig, south by southeast of the village of Lochinver, on the main approach footpath to Suilven mountain. About four miles across the hills to the west is Fionn Loch.
